To add /tu æd/ significa añadir, agregar o sumar.

  • Add something to something — añadir o agregar una cosa a otra.
    • Add some milk to the coffee. — “Agrega un poco de leche al café.”
  • Add numbers — “sumar números”.
    • Add five and three. — “Suma cinco más tres.”
  • Add someone to a group or list — “agregar a alguien a un grupo o una lista”.
    • She added me to the WhatsApp group.
    • He added that he was tired. — “Él añadió que estaba cansado.”

Observa el orden en add something to something: primero decimos qué agregamos y después usamos to para indicar dónde lo agregamos. Por ejemplo: “Add the sugar to the water” (Agrega el azúcar al agua).

El verbo compuesto add up puede significar sumar varios números: “Add up these numbers” (Suma estos números).
